Ipsy November Bag

I Adore Ipsy! At only 10$ a month I think it’s well worth it to have an adorable bag with fun products delivered to my door every month!! I’ll be the first to admit, I have no clue what I’m doing with makeup. I went to a military boarding school when I would have otherwise been learning and experimenting and after that I just didn’t see the point and never thought I needed it. I’m still ok going without most of the time but for the times that I want to add a little something this is perfect. I don’t have to buy full-sized items unless I fall in love with something (which I have) and you not only receive makeup but tools, hair products, etc.

This months theme is Girls Meet Glitter which is great!!

You always get a fun bag with your items and I love that “Ipsy” is only on the zipper pull and not all over it like some I’ve seen. I use these to store makeup, travel, and even for the bits and bobs I need for crochet!

Then there’s the card that tells about the theme:

The only item I received this month that I’m not sure about is the J. Cat Wonder Lip Paint in the color Mad Splatter. When I wear lippy stuff it’s usually a light color…I’m not very brave when it comes to this! But, of course I’m still going to play with it and try it out…I might be surprised!

Next there’s the Star Looks eye pencil in Ultra Orchid. I’m looking forward to trying this as it has Glitter in it!

Then there’s the ‘be a bombshell…’ eye base in Submissive. Honestly, I have no idea what eye base is, lol. I’d think it went under other eye stuff but it’s glittery and so pretty…I wouldn’t want to cover it up! I’ll have to look this stuff up!

The Be Delectable hand cream looks so yummy! I received Strawberry & Cream and while I was hoping for Coconut & Cream, I’m in no way disappointed as this smells great!

Lastly, this month, I got the GlamGlow Powermud DualCleanse Treatment. I love masks and haven’t done one in so long!! Poverty excited to give this a try!

PinchMe is an awesome little freebie site that every few weeks or so opens up with some stuff you can grab. I love it! I’ve been pretty lucky and have been able to grab at least 1 or 2 items almost every time, but you have to be super quick! A lot of people get upset when they aren’t able to get anything…which I honestly don’t understand…it’s free! I’m happy when I receive something for free and perfectly fine when I don’t!

The last time they did it I was able to grab 2 things:

The first is BULLET. It is the “simple, all-in-one acne system that fits in your pocket”. The full-size is actually a little spray designed to carry in your purse. My favorite thing about this is that is a natural product and is gentle to your skin.

The other item is the Shea Moisture Organic African Black Soap with Shea Butter which is an Acne Prone Face & Body Bar. I’m not “acne prone” I wouldn’t say, but I’m normal and do get pimples every so often…which I hate! The story on the back of the soap is great:
“Sofi Tucker started gathering Shea Nuts for sale at the village market in Bonthe, Sierra Leone in 1912. By age 19, the widowed mother of four was selling her Shea Butter, Black Soap, and other homemade hair and skin preparations to villagers, missionaries, and tourists all over the countryside.”
How inspiring! This is another organic product and while I don’t usually use bar soaps, I’m happy to try this one out!

They started giving out hints 2-3 weeks ago and when the theme was announced I flipped! Christmas Vacation is one of my Favorite Christmas movies!!!

October Horror Block Spoiler

Within the past couple of weeks I found out about Nerd Block and then, one of their subscription boxes, Horror Block! I thought Nerd Block Classic and Nerd Block Arcade looked awesome and absolutely like something I’d enjoy but I’m not made of money and when I saw Horror it was all over! I Love horror!! I can remember being super young and staying up late (night owl…always) watching things like USA Up All Night with all the creepy shows. Needless to say, I’m a huge fan.

Anyways…I thought I’d give it a try for a couple months. At 19.99 a month, plus shipping, it’s not crazy expensive but also not something I’ll feel comfortable keeping for long, even though it’s pretty fab.

So, each Horror Block comes in fun box:

And has a little card that talks about what’s inside:

First up, Fangoria. I haven’t read this in sooooo long and was psyched to see that there’s an interview with Wes Craven in this issue. Incidentally…Fangoria debuted in 1979, the same year I did! Coincidence? I think not! Lol ($10.99)

Next we have Cereal Killers sticker cards. They’re pretty silly/fun though I’m not quite sure what I’ll do with them? Probably keep a couple favorites and save the rest until my son is a bit older. ($7.00?)

This item is great…horror meets crafts!! A Build Your Own Zombie kit! It comes with dough in multiple colors which are “great for creating and decapitating, then reanimating again!” Ha! ($9.50)

Next we come to the Reaction Figure! You could receive either Jason or Sam. I’m not sure which I’d have rather gotten…probably Jason since he’s classic, but I’m happy with Sam. The first time I saw his movie (Trick ‘r Treat) was the first time I was in Kuwait! ($9.99)

I was really surprised at this item…a Blu-ray of Puppet Master!! Whaaat! I haven’t seen this in years so I’ll be watching it soon! ($9.99)

Finally, every month you receive an exclusive t-shirt. I totally squeeeeeed when I saw this months!! LOVE IT!! ($20.00???)

Final thoughts…I really love this box! I’ll definitely get one more month and I’m sure I’ll get a month here and there in the future. I estimated the value of the box, using Amazon prices, to be about 67.47. I priced the t-shirt at 20.00 because I’m guessing that’s about what it would be. Great value…about double what I paid!

If you’d like to check out any of Nerd Blocks boxes, their website is http://www.nerdblock.com …and no they didn’t pay me or give me anything free to write this (I wish! Lol)…I just really loved my box!
