Random Randomness

I’m tired and am going to go lay down, but I thought I’d do a real quick (REAL quick) post with some random stuff!!

A few weeks ago, John, Seb, and I went to a wedding on a Carnival ship!  We live right outside of Galveston so we were just day visitors.  I didn’t realize this was possible!  We got on a couple hours before the wedding, were allowed free reign of the ship, went to the wedding and reception, and then got off!  FUN!  I dressed my little Seb up as a Sailor!  SO CUTE!!!Image

I chopped my hair off.  Totally.  I asked for a pixie cut and got something more along the lines of Demi Moore…but it’s cute and I like it.  I haven’t gotten a good pic of ME with it yet so my hair will have to do!Image

This little boy.  He kills me.  John says he looks like Chucky when he smiles like this.  I think he just looks like sunshine and sillyness!!!Image

I know it’s not just me.  He’s too cute for words!Image

4th of July I popped this hat on him and he pulled his arms in like that…almost like he was pumping his fists.  So Funny!Image

Crafts!  For my birthday, John got me the pink mini polaroid camera!  I made this case for it from my Crochet Today magazine!Image

Also from Crochet Today – just a happy little decoration!ImageImage

Dr. Scholl’s For Her High Heel Insoles – Sunkissed Influenster Vox Box

Next we come to my new Dr. Scholl’s For Her High Heel Insoles.  These were also sent to me from Influenster for free in order to test and review them.

I had NO idea what to expect these.  I’ve not only never worn high heel inserts, but prior to getting some regular inserts from another site, I’d never worn any at all!!

Before my review, lets see what Dr. Scholl’s has to say about these.  Taken from their website:

“Dr. Scholl’s For Her High Heel Insoles are proven to improve the way you feel in heels.  The unique design helps prevent foot aches and pains caused by high heels two inches and higher.  Plus, the ultra-soft gel arch shifts pressure off the ball of your foot while providing guaranteed all-day comfort.

* Proven to improve the way you feel in heels

* Unique ultra-soft FabuSTEP gel arch shifts pressure off your ball of foot

* Immediate and all day comfort

* Stays firmly in place

* Removable without damage to shoes

* Slim design won’t make shoes feet tight

* Practically invisible, even in strappy heels

Available in Women’s sizes 6-10 and Designed to fit All high heels, 2″ and higher.

How it works:

* Uniquely designed ultra-soft gel arch shifts pressure off the ball of your foot

* FabuSTEP gel provides added cushioning

* Unique adhesive keeps insole in place

* 3/4 length design won’t crowd toes

How to use:

* Place on top of your current insole

* No trimming required

* Replace every 6 months or at first signs of wear”

So, knowing how trusted of a brand Dr. Scholl’s is, I expected great things…and I was not disappointed!!  The balls of my feet always get so so sore after wearing most of my heels.  They end up feeling bruised and more often than not, I end up barefoot.  I tried these out recently when we attended a wedding and…kept my shoes on the entire time!!  Success!!!

Also, they were so easy to apply…just peel the sticker and pop in your shoe!

While these *might* not work for everyone, if your feet hurt in heels, they are well worth a try!

Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics – Sunkissed Influenster VoxBox

Also in my Sunkissed VoxBox, sent to me for free to review by Influenster, was this pack of 5 Goody Ouchless Ribbon Elastics in different colors.

Goody provides the following information on them:

*Soft, stretchy material that looks beautiful on the wrist or in the hair!

*From America’s #1 elastics brand, Goody Ouchless

*Unique knot style hair ties are perfect for personalizing or dressing up your look.

I really wanted to love these, and even with their “flaw”, I kind of still do!  The problem, as I see it, is that they aren’t really very elastic.  Up until last weekend I had long hair.  THICK long hair.  So basically, it took a lot to keep it up.  As soon as these arrived, I tried pulling my hair up with one…no go.  It was only elastic enough to go around my hair twice and that wasn’t enough to pull it tight.  I had to wear a regular elastic and then put this over it.  Still, cute!!  This probably isn’t a problem for a lot of people, but for me it meant that I couldn’t wear them alone!

That said, last weekend I chopped all my hair off and there’s not enough of it to put up anymore so I tried wearing these on my wrist and I think it’s super cute!!  Not fancy, but fun and summery and different!!  These won’t go to waste!

Olay Fresh Effects – Review

Recently I was lucky enough to be chosen to receive a VoxBox from Influenster with some complimentary products to review and the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream was one of them!

We were able to choose the color that we received but I could not tell the difference on my computer, and they were not named, so I ended up with the light/medium.  It almost seems a little light for me, but not too much so.

So, the product!  I’ve been a fan of Olay products for pretty much as long as I can remember and so I was even more excited to try this!  This one states that it offers six skincare benefits in one step:

* Refreshes skin instantly

*Brightens for a radiant glow

*Evens tone with a splash of sheer color

*Hydrates for 24 hours

*Smoothes for softer feeling skin

*Protects against UV damage with SPF 15

Honestly, these all sound great.  The pictures from my phone didn’t turn out very well, but in person you can absolutely tell a difference.  I’ve used it 3 times now and I’m really happy with how it makes my face look and feel.  I don’t have *bad* skin but it’s not perfect either and just throwing this stuff on covered up any splotches that were there.  The SPF 15 is an added bonus!!  I don’t usually wear sunscreen except for on my face and ears…but I HATE how it feels.  Now, I don’t have to add any extra on the days I wear this!

Which brings me to my other favorite thing about this (other than making me feel pretty!) – TIME SAVER.  Today my son turned 17 months old and he is on the go constantly.  Even in his sleep he moves all around his crib!  I do not have the time to spend on beautifying myself so if I want to do something, it has to be quick.  Applying this is so easy, even I can do it.  Grab a makeup brush, pour a drop on, dab it onto my face, and voila!!  All done!!  A simplified daily beauty routine is a *beautiful* thing.
