Now, I’ll be the first to admit…I don’t wear a lot of makeup. I blame it on school. Where most girls learn from their friends in school, I didn’t. When I was young, girls didn’t really wear it until High School…but I started High School by going to a military school where some girls did wear it, but I had other things to worry about! As I grew older, I just never really learned. This doesn’t mean I don’t love makeup and playing with it and can’t make myself look presentable when I need to…it just means that all the fancy blending and such I don’t know how to do!
When I got the invite for this Neutrogena Campaign I was super excited! Makeup! To play with! For Free!! Woohoo!!! As you can see from the below picture, the box I received was all but stuffed full of goodies!!
*Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick (Sweet Watermelon) – For sheer, shiny color that continuously conditions lips
*Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara (Black) – For 100% longer looking lashes
*Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadows (Constant Copper & Lasting Taupe) – For 12-hour wear that instantly revives and brightens eyes.
First – the mascara. Mascara is one of those things that I’m really just not very good with. I’ve never been able to get my lashes to look anywhere close to the lashes of anyone in the pictures, lol. …This was no different. However, while following the directions that where on the package, I was able to not have any clumps on my lashes; something that has always really really bugged me! I think with practice, I could get better with this!
Next, the Color Stick. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It’s Yummy!!! Smells much more like a yummy lip gloss than a lipstick…but it is colored! The Sweet Watermelon is a light pink and is nice and shiny as they say! I’m not positive the color really works for me, but I do like it.
Lastly, the Eye Shadows. I love both the colors and the ease of applying! As with most makeup…I’m not sure I’m applying it right and don’t know how to get my eyes looking like the models, but I was happy with the result!! One thing I noticed is if they are cold, they won’t work!! I blew some hot air onto one and held it for a minute and then it worked fine!
