Smiley360 Mission – Tazo Chai

IMG_0748.JPG

Smiley360 (www.smiley360.com) is a website where you take surveys and if they are a good fit with you, you’ll receive some sort of box of goodies to review for free!

I Love tea so I was so excited to get to try three flavors of the Tazo Chai: Vanilla Caramel, Chocolate, and Classic. Out of the three, the Vanilla Caramel was my favorite, but they were all tasty! Also included were three coupons to get three full sized products…either boxes of tea or the concentrate! I will be hunting for the Pumpkin Spice!

PinchMe Box

IMG_0539.JPG

On certain Tuesdays at noon (announced beforehand) PinchMe ( http://www.pinchme.com ) has free samples. You have to create an account so they know what demographics you fit into, but once you’ve done that, you’re good to go! You aren’t guaranteed to have any samples available, and even if you do have some, if you aren’t quick they’ll be gone, but what a thrill when you do! These boxes are completely free and the only stipulation is that you have to complete a very short survey on each item you receive before you can get more!

I got this box probably about a month ago and it was filled! I was able to get: 2 Wet Nap antibacterial wipes,

Influenster VoxBox – Colgate Optic White

Here’s the thing.  I’ve tried tons of teeth whiteners in the past.  Not that my teeth are SUPER yellow but I’ve never been 100% happy with them and would really like them more white!  So, I’ve tried strips and home lights and gross toothpaste, etc etc and didn’t like any of them…mostly because I have a strong gag reflex and really get grossed out by some textures.  Yuck Yuck Yuck!!

So when I got the word that I would be getting a new VoxBox and it was a complementary Colgate Optic White brush to test and review, I wasn’t really sure what to think.  BUT when I saw that this was just a brush with nothing to rinse or leave on, my curiosity was perked.

The day finally came when my awesome box arrived and I ripped that bad boy open!  This is what the product looks like:

Image

We have the brush and a little tube that clicks into the bottom.  First, you brush your teeth as normal.  We were given a small tube of the Optic White toothpaste

Image

which I gave the old college try and used it a couple of times, but to be honest, I didn’t like it.  I’m VERY picky about the taste/texture of my toothpaste and just couldn’t use it.  Please don’t take that to mean it was bad!  There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it, lol, I’m just weird!!

So, as I said, first you start by brushing your teeth.  Once you’re done you pull out the little tube from the bottom of the brush and give it one twist.  A small bead appears and you brush that onto your teeth with the rubber tip.  The instructions say to do that 4 times, 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom.  Then, you just go about your day.  I thought I would HATE having it on my teeth but it’s actually not bad at all and soon enough the bit of paste that’s there is gone.  So Easy!!

I started to see a difference extremely fast.  It’s been…3 weeks or so…and I’m so happy with this product.  My little tube has, I’m guessing, about a week left in it.  I will absolutely be purchasing a refill asap!!

Influenster Rose VoxBox – Dr. Scholl’s For Her Cozy Cushions

Oh that Rose VoxBox was like Mary Poppins bag!  Things just kept coming out of it!

I’d never seen these Dr. Scholl’s For Her Cozy Cushions prior to receiving this box of goodies courtesy of Influenster for testing and reviewing purposes, probably because it is very new!  I did see it a week or so ago in Target so I know they’re out now!

Image

The second I set eyes on them, I new right where they would go – into my Uggs.  I love these boots.  I got them a couple years ago and my feet have grown (thank you, pregnancy, lol) but they still fit, thankfully, because I LOVE them.  I’m usually a flip-flops kind of girl…rarely venturing out in much else.  This is helped along by my husband being in the Army and us seemingly to go from hot to hotter to hottest!  But, once in a while the temperature does dip and I’m able to pull out my nice warm boots.  The few times I’ve gotten to wear them, one thing has bothered me…the soles.  They’ve always felt a little Hard.  I never would have put a regular cushion in because I didn’t want to sacrifice the all-around fuzziness of the boot, but with these little beauties I don’t have to!  They’re fuzzy AND cushy!  Perfect!!

Now for the *real* info!  Taken from the Influenster site:

Influenster Rose VoxBox – Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara

Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara is a brand new (November 2013) mascara from Rimmel London and I consider myself a very lucky girl indeed to have gotten to try it out for free to test courtesy of Influenster!!

The Rimmel London site ( http://us.rimmellondon.com/products/eyes/scandaleyes-retro-glam-mascara ) has this to say about this product:

*Bold, wide-eyed false lash look

* Hour-glass shaped to the lash line to plump lashes, fanning them up and out for bold, wide-eyed volume

*Coats lashes individually for a big, false lash look in one simple stroke.  No clumps!

Now…I’ve always LOVED makeup but I’ve never been very good at it.  As I’ve gotten older I’ve started to care a little more and have begun to experiment.  One product that I have Never had any luck with is mascara.  It always seems to clump and just look awful to me and I’d pretty much given up buying it any more.  So, when the Rose VoxBox arrived on my door with this in it I didn’t exactly have high hopes…but…as I said, I really do love makeup, so I was happy to give One More mascara a try.

It took me a while to find a good time to use it.  I supposed I could have put it on anytime but it’s usually just my son and I here during the day and we’re busy busy busy and I wanted a *reason* to wear it.  Finally today, with hubby home, we had a few places we needed to go and I thought – Perfect!!  I’ll just put this on real fast, take a few pictures, and see how it goes!!  Well, I’d forgotten that I have quite the…”Helper”…in my 21 month old son.  As I leaned towards the mirror in the bathroom, he climbed upon the toilet to “brush his teeth”, etc etc etc.  Basically my quick application turned into at least a 20 minute journey with him hanging off my arm, grabbing the mascara, spraying me with water, trying to dump his toys in the toilet…pretty much life with a little boy.

I say all this because when all was said and done…it worked.  There were NO CLUMPS!!!  I couldn’t believe it!  I absolutely still need to practice with it (or do it Without Sebastian’s awesome help) but I think I’ve finally found a mascara that I could grow to love.  And…there’s just something about the fat bottle it comes in that makes me smile!

Please forgive my amazing photography.  Taking pictures of your eyes with your phone in the bathroom while you have a child/monkey attacking you isn’t what I would call easy…but they do the job!!  I also only managed to get the “after” photo after one eye…but the other looked much the same.

Image

Here we have my “before”.  I like to think that I have long, dark, pretty lashes, but you certainly can’t tell here!

Image

But wait!!!  What do we have here!!??  LASHES!!  That you can SEE!!  That aren’t all clumpy!!  Bliss.

Image

Out of order…of course, here is the miracle product!  Go out and buy this RIGHT NOW!!!

scandaleyes1

The little helper doing his level best to steal my goodies!!!

Image

One more “after”.  The left eye has no mascara…the right eye does.  I can tell even with my award winning camera photography!!!

And lest you think I was joking about my helper, here he is in all his glory, ready to rule the world!!!  Or at least make his poor mother even crazier that she started!  ;-)

BzzAgent Campagaign: Fair Trade Certified Green Mountain Coffee

Recently I received a happy little box in the mail with some Fair Trade Certified Green Mountain Coffee to test and review for free from BzzAgent.

If you’re not familiar with what Fair Trade actually is, as I wasn’t before joining this campaign, it is a movement that allows farms to get a fair price for their beans, which leads to community development projects like new schools, improved roads, and safer drinking water.  Basically, by purchasing a Fair Trade Certified item, you are helping coffee-farming communities improve their way of life.  Win-Win!  To learn some more, please visit: http://www.choosefairtrade.com/

Green Mountain Coffee, Inc., the parent company of Green Mountain Coffee, is actually the largest purchaser of Fair Trade Certified coffee.  The flavor that I was able to try is their brand-new Three Continent Blend, which combines the flavors and aromas of South America, Africa, and Asia into one harmonious Extra Bold Blend.

Now, I am the type of person who drinks coffee mostly for the taste.  I choose the caffeinated types because I’m a mom of a little boy who gets up far too early for my liking, but still, if it doesn’t taste good, I don’t drink it.  I like one that has a Good Taste rather than a *strong* taste and this coffee delivers!  I was quite pleasantly surprised that it really does has a distinct taste that isn’t overpowering.  I really have enjoyed trying this out!!

(The last picture is me attempting to make myself some coffee on a day I REALLY needed it…and my son doing his best to not let that happen!  LOL)

Sebastian’s First Trip to the ER

When Seb got his first haircut a couple weeks ago, I admit I cried a bit. Everything is just happening so fast and it feels like so many firsts are behind us.

I needn’t have worried. He showed me there are still Plently of firsts to be had….

See, we collect can tabs for the DAR. Most are in a bag with Box Tops but when I’m feeling lazy they’re popped into a drawer to be dealt with later. Yesterday I heard him feeling his way through a drawer…hunting for a snack I assumed. He walked over and had a tab sticking out if his mouth!! I grabbed and when I did I saw one much further back. I tried to get him to spit it out and when he wouldn’t I went to dig it out but he doubled over to get away!!

When I got him up there were 2 on the floor. One that I’d dropped and the other?? Was it from his mouth (didn’t feel wet) or his hand!!!?? My husband, who was working from home came up and made him throw up and it wasn’t there so I called his doc to ask what to do. They said, get him to the ER. So that’s where we spent our day!!

Thankfully we were in a small room and had a TV so I didn’t have to chase him for hours but it was quote a wait!! In the end, the X-Ray showed nothing there!!! Phew!!!!
